How hard can it be? They are just words...

Slips away

Now there was a time, I would have waited forever.

But just like my mind, the time slipped away.

And there may be moments of truth you can see,

you better hold them tight, 'cause they'll slip away.

Still we try like crazy, yeah we move and rearrange,

but the only thing we get that's constant, the only thing we get for sure is change.

We can hold what we want and what we think we need for the day,

but we may wake up in the morning to find it has slipped away.

Some say I'm crazy, but I see there hands are empty too,

if it can slip away from me, it can slip away from you.

And time may be kind, a lot may come your way,

just keep it in mind, it all slips away.

I held a dream, in the palm of my hand,

I didn't even scream, as it ran through my fingers like sand.

No one is promised tomorrow, some of my friends aren't here today,

I feel the joy and the sorrow, but even that slips away.

And you can hold on tight, try to run faster every day,

but it's a losing fight, 'cause time slips away.

So make the most of what you got, it may not be much anyway,

but you could wake up tomorrow, to find even that slipped away.

So if you have someone who loves you, listen close to what I say,

love's the only thing that pulls through, as time slips away!
