A world of illusion, is not a world you'd know.

So to a world of confusion, you decide to go.

I don't know if you just forgot, or if you ever knew.

But you were too busy fighting, fighting only you!

So now tell me are you having fun?

Looking out for number one!

Is that really what you're all about?

Is that why you scream and shout?

And now tell me do you live in pain?

I don't see what you hope to gain!

'Cause I think that scar is new,

Did you get it fighting, fighting only you?

And I'll bet when you're older, You'll be more bitter still.

And then you'll have to pay the price, and it's a very large bill.

For all that damage, that you used to do,

When you kept on fighting, fighting only you!

Take a good look at your face!

There's no smile, no there's no place.

All that looking out for number one,

Can't you see the damage, see what you've done?

And so now you think you've got it made!

But your light is starting to fade!

You're in pain through and through,

From all that fighting, fighting only you!

So take another look at you, don't you wonder who you are?

Hard as a marble statue. How did you get this far?

If you'd just remembered, oh, if you'd only knew,

There's never a winner, when you're fighting only you!
